MARJORIE & JOHN

I knew the first time I chatted with Marjorie on the phone, that I would love working with her.  Sweet and genuine, she’s the kind of gal that any girl would love to have as a friend… any any guy, as a partner.  I enjoyed spending the morning of John & Marjorie’s wedding with the girls – Marjorie was surrounded by her dearest friends, sister, mother & adorable grandmother.  It was clear that her graceful demeanor was passed down the family line.  John & his brother laughed the pre-ceremony hours away and before I knew it the walk down the aisle began.  John & Marjorie – it has been such a pleasure getting to know you both, and I was honored to spend this special day with you!  Listening to your families toasts & the things that they had to say about the person each of you are, I know your future together will be incredible.

RACHELLE & BRANDON

Wedding season is quickly approaching!  The “winter months” are typically pretty slow for me, as there are not too many weddings in the winter in Cincinnati, but as Spring quickly approaches so does wedding weather!  Rachelle & Brandon are kicking off this season for me and WOW the weather for their wedding day!  They had originally planned on having heaters available during their outdoor cocktail hour, and instead the sun provided summer-like temperatures!  It was an absolutely beautiful St. Patrick’s Day & the perfect day for their wedding.  We started the day off at the Hilton Netherland Plaza where the girls primped for the day (Rachelle looked AMAZING!), and finished off at The Bell Event Centre.  Rachelle was one of my most relaxed brides to date (despite how she thought she might do on the wedding day) and I loved watching her & Brandon just enjoy each other, their family, and each of their guests.  My favorite parts of the day included a fun impromptu walk in the St. Paddy’s Day parade (they were so awesome to jump in there!) and a stop by their home that they have been renovating together for the last year.

MY NEW LOOK!

You’ve heard me mention over the last few months that there would be some changes around the bend for me.  I’m so very proud & excited to show you this labor of love that I’ve been working so hard on for the last 5 months.  Amanda Donaho Photography has a whole new look!  Now to update the gallery images :)    Check back in the coming weeks for that!

This might be a little long winded, but I feel it’s important to share it all…

My photographic style has evolved over the last few years so much.  My cute little mauve colored “AD” logo that I had wasn’t accurately representing me anymore.  I’ve known that I needed a change.  I didn’t want to do anything haphazardly, so I spent a lot of time soul-searching.  Many things needed to change about my business, from use of time, to what I was shooting, to business models, to the way I was representing or branding myself.  Enter Meg of Moglea.

I feel so incredibly blessed to have had Meg as my graphic designer.  She spent so much time getting to know me and what I wanted to “say” with this new brand.  I’m one of those people that knows what I like when I see it, but stink at actually putting it together.  I suck at dressing myself.  I can see something on someone else and say “oh my gosh, I LOVE that” but putting it all together myself?  Not my strong point.  Meg was AMAZING at putting it all together.  She heard everything I said and ran with it, creating this most perfect representation of what I do and WHY I do it.  Then Cathy of Love-Inspired was my website angel, who floated in and took all the pieces Meg had created & put them together to create this gorgeous website.  THIS is the “me” that has been evolving all of this time, and I’m SO happy with it.  A giant thank you to both of these incredible women for working so hard.  xoxo

Along with these pretty changes comes a big change to my business.   Over the last few years, I have taken increasingly less “portrait” clients (families, babies, senior sessions, etc) so that I could focus on wedding photography.  Photographing couples in love, entering into this new time of their life is what really makes me “come alive”.  I have loved and am so thankful for all of the portrait clients I have met & become friends with over the years, but weddings have always been my heart.  Now as a mom of 3, it’s even more important for me to become more focused in my work and time management and because of that as of today, I am officially strictly (!) a wedding photographer!  I am SO excited about this.  I’m excited to put all of myself into this one specific field & work my best at it.  I’m excited to be able to give 200% to each of my wedding clients (which I will only accept 25 of each year).  I’m excited to have time to take on personal photography projects that I feel will help me grow creatively.  Thankfully, we live in a city with many amazing photographers and I am happy to give anyone looking for portrait photographers suggestions on who to check out, so just email!  There is a chance that I may offer one day of mini-session portraits around the holidays again this year, but if I do, I will only be announcing that on my Facebook page, so please be sure to go “like” it!

So that’s that!  I’m super pumped about all of these changes & so glad to finally share them with the web!  Thank you from the bottom of my heart to my clients & friends who have supported & encouraged me over the years.  I am so flipping lucky to have such amazing people in my life.

Tika & Kevin are such sweet, relaxed people – and their wedding reflected that.  It was the perfect wedding day – full of loving families, a gorgeous venue, a beautiful couple & a stellar best man toast (…and I know toasts!  Great job!)  It was a pleasure getting to work with Tika & Kevin & I’m excited to share a little sneak peek into their day with you!  T&K – Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your big day!
